It functions as a molecular sponge: it binds soil particles to itself, opens air spaces for the roots, and absorbs water that is slowly released to the plant during the summer. In addition, compost introduces billions of good bacteria into the soil that begin to break down nutrients for the plants.

2. The Secret of Mycorrhiza

If there is one "magic" in gardening, it is the mycorrhiza fungus. The word itself is made up of "miko" (fungus) and "rosa" (root). We introduce the spores of this fungus into the soil when planting.

The fungus forms a symbiosis (mutual relationship) with the plant: it connects to its roots and sends out tiny webs to distances that the plant would never reach on its own. These webs dissolve and absorb phosphorus, nitrogen, and water from deep within the soil, and transfer them to the plant. In return, the plant gives the fungus sugars that it produces in the sun. 3. Zero bare soil (ground cover)

In nature, you won't see bare soil. Direct sun on the soil simply evaporates the water, kills the good bacteria, and raises the root temperature to dangerous levels. That's why we always use organic mulch (like forest wood chips) or plant cover crops densely. It looks aesthetically pleasing and clean (perfect with modern lines), prevents weed germination, and keeps the root system cool and moist.

How do I check myself if I have a watertightness problem or buried debris? The drainage test: Dig a small hole 30 cm deep in the problem area. Fill it with water and wait for it to drain. Fill it again and check: If the water has not seeped out within an hour or two, you have a serious watertightness problem. During the digging, if you get stuck in concrete blocks or white powder (lime), you have contractor debris under the grass.

How much compost do you really need to put in for it to work? It's not a spice you sprinkle on top. To change the structure of compacted clay soil, you need to incorporate (mix into the soil) between 10 and 30 liters of compost per square meter of bed, depending on the condition of the soil.

When will I see results from natural restoration? It doesn't happen overnight, but the process starts immediately. Within 3-4 weeks of proper care and planting, you will see a dramatic change in leaf color, fresh growth, and most importantly – you will see that the irrigation water is finally seeping in and not standing on top like a puddle of mud.
